Financial Aid

Houston Christian High School adheres to the National Association of Independent School (NAIS) Principles of Good Practice for Financial Aid Administration. Financial aid is awarded to attract qualified individuals who could not otherwise afford a private college preparatory education and to achieve a goal of a diverse student population. Only accepted students are offered financial aid.

Financial aid is award based only on demonstrated financial need and is currently only available to cover the cost of regular school tuition. Assistance through this program is not available for the cost of fees, laptop computers, Discovery tuition or Distinguished Scholar Program tuition. Although the school will attempt to meet all demonstrated need, the availability of funding for financial aid will, at times, limit the ability to meet all need.

The school strictly safeguards the confidentiality of all financial information supplied by the family. The school maintains that the primary responsibility for financing education rests with the parents/guardians of the student. Accordingly, in calculating a family’s ability to contribute to their child’s cost of education, a reasonable amount of income may be imputed for a non-working spouse. Non-working parents who are caring for pre-school children, a disabled family member, an ill family member, or are home-schooling may be exempt.

Awards will be communicated to the parent/guardian by letter from the Business Office within one week of the decision by the Financial Aid Committee. All awards will be in written communication.
