Visual Arts

Beginning and experienced artists have opportunities to be creative through TAPPS State Competition, Culture Shapers, VASE, YAM, and Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Our developing program includes digital photography and the graphic arts. Creative artists distinguish themselves in AP Art Classes and National Art Honor Society. Becoming a HCHS Art Rat is fun!

National Art Honor Society

The National Art Honor Society is an international organization for high school students who wish to foster excellence and a dedicated spirit to the pursuit of art. This club is open to all students who have taken two or more art courses, or are currently enrolled in their second year of art. At Houston Christian High School, the students of NAHS are responsible for the Evening of the Arts, a juriexd art show showcasing area middle school/artists.

Art Club

The Art Club of Houson Christian High School is open to all students of the school, not only those currently taking an art class. We meet throughout the year and work to both promote and celebrate the arts on the HCHS campus and around the city of Houston. Plans for the upcoming school year include painting a mural for the school, making our own art car for the Art Car parade in 2006 and attending an independent film festival.
