Philosophy
Inspiring leadership is at the core of HCHS academics, athletics, and fine arts. We believe each student can lead for the greater good, can influence people into action for a greater cause and can transform their family, community and culture for Christ. Whether our students find success as a servant leader, a chosen leader or a gifted leader—the outcome remains the same—an attitude of valuing others, the capacity for hard work, persistence in the face of discouragement, a public sense of the ability to affect the lives of others and a concern and commitment to personal excellence.
Our goal for every student at HCHS is to successfully navigate, manage and blend the rigors and challenges of academics with the many co-curricular enrichment opportunities available. To understand and appreciate time management through experiential learning, to gain knowledge and wisdom by mastering a scripturally-integrated college-preparatory curriculum and to develop an appreciation of one’s creator, one’s parents, one’s mentors and teachers and one’s peers by discovery, defining and acknowledging their own unique leadership abilities, gifts and talents.
