Support Houston Christian High School

To provide its students with the best resources, HCHS relies on support from families, alumni and faculty/staff along with trustees and friends throughout the greater Houston community. There are various types of support – volunteerism, donations, and school promotions, and these efforts are coordinated by the Advancement Department to effectively represent HCHS and to serve its constituencies. To this end, the Advancement Department takes an integrated approach to giving by coordinating annual giving, scholarships, capital giving, planned giving, alumni relations, public relations, marketing and stewardship.

Annual Giving

Annual giving is critical to the financial foundation of the school. In all cases, some level of participation by all members of the Houston Christian High School family is strongly encouraged. Annual giving generates much needed funding to support the school’s operating budget. Every student benefits from annual giving because the money raised directly supports classroom materials, teacher salaries, and student activities. At Houston Christian High School, annual giving is accomplished through an annual campaign and an annual spring event. The annual fund campaign and the spring Celebration are coordinated by volunteers and the administration. These activities provide opportunities for the HCHS family to become involved by volunteering, soliciting donations, and attending events.

Scholarships

Donations designated to specific individuals are not tax deductible. Tax-deductible gifts to the Houston Christian High School endowment or for unrestricted financial aid are appreciated and will be disbursed by the Financial Aid Committee.

Capital Giving

Houston Christian High School is actively engaged raising funds to complete the school’s campus master plan. The exemplary facilities at Houston Christian High School are evidence of the philanthropic support of many individuals, families and foundations. Capital giving provides donors the opportunity to extend their values and preserve their interest while meeting their needs. As in all areas of giving, donors’ interests are central to this process.

Planned Giving

Planned giving offers individuals and families a way of making charitable donations to the school through outright gifts, bequests, life income gifts and the creation of endowed funds. The Director of Advancement at Houston Christian High School is prepared to assist families interested in honoring our heritage as a part of their overall financial and estate planning.

Public Relations/Media Relations

Management of the public and media relations is a function of the administration at Houston Christian High School. Opportunities to put the Houston Christian High School name before the public, whether at a public gathering, through television and radio or in the print media are directed through the Advancement Department.
